ESF Project Organiser – North West Region

Based in Liverpool

Fixed Term Contract (until 31 March 2018)

Part time 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

Starting Salary: WEA Scale D £30,388 per annum, pro rata (actual salary £24,310.40 per annum)

We are looking to recruit a Project Organiser responsible for developing, delivering and managing a £1.1m ESF European Social Fund community grants programme

The post-holder will work with key stakeholders to ensure their active engagement in the management of community grants in the area, including grant panels and a steering group. You will encourage and support the submission of a range of strong grant applications from communities across Liverpool City Region, ensure that the decision making process is fair and transparent and support successful applicants to deliver effective projects. You will liaise with the LEP and the SFA to ensure that the programme meets the objectives of our funders and the standards of their auditors.

The role requires experience of working in (or closely with) the voluntary and community sector; understanding the range of needs voluntary organisations have and how these can best be met. You will need excellent numeracy skills (e.g. handling budget figures accurately) and good understanding of budgeting and financial accountability, as well as experience of evaluating and monitoring funding proposals.

You will need effective verbal communication and presentation skills. A strong track record in implementing systems and procedures, maintain accurate and comprehensive records. A methodical and accurate approach to work with good timekeeping, punctuality, ability to work independently and meet required deadlines.

The post-holder will be willing to work flexibly, sometimes outside normal office hours and be willing to travel across Merseyside and Halton to both promote and support the implementation of ESF community grants.
