Liverpool social enterprise Placed are delivering their FREE Liverpool Easter School again this year, running 10-13th April sponsored by the University of Liverpool. The programme is open to 14-19 year olds from across the region and will:
- Offer a unique insight into careers in urban design and planning, a sector very much in demand
- Be fun and hands-on, covering topics including site analysis, regeneration and design skills
- Will be particularly interesting to students interested in design, geography, architecture – although it covers a wide range of themes
- Develop skills and give participants an invaluable experience to include on CVs and university applications
- Be supported by professionals and university students from the sector – so a fantastic opportunity to find out what it is really like first hand
- Be completely FREE to attend and requires no school representatives
- Places are strictly limited to 50 participants.
Over the four days participants will take part in a wide range of activities, exploring how places are developed, decisions are made and who’s involved. The Placed team are planning on basing their project on an area recently been announced as a priority for the city, so they’ll be considering real issues. Activities will include a site visit, considering local priorities, needs and plans, considering local people and those who use the area, developing a strategy and creating masterplans through modelling before a final presentation evening.
This is Placed’s 10th programme, and they are always very popular. Many previous participants have gone onto study related subjects in university as a result of taking part. For more details visit their website.
Closing date is 10th March.
