Award Winning Social Enterprise launches new project.

A campervan called Ed will be helping make Liverpool a better place to live. Ed will be the focal point of a series of public events run by award winning social enterprise, PLACED. More than 1,000 people are expected to take part in 10 key events as part of the ‘Better Places Together’ campaign over the coming months; the first of which will be held at Ropewalks Square this Saturday, 3rd June.

The first event in the Better Places Together series will see PLACED pitching up in Ed at Ropewalks Square, Liverpool city center, 12-4pm, Saturday 3rd June. Ed is a repurposed campervan providing a mobile consultation and workshop venue.

In their unique and mobile workspace, PLACED will be providing hands-on activities, which tackle topics specific to the immediate pitch location. The public will be invited to choose 5 built environment elements from PLACED’s mock up ‘market stall’, constructed in response to the fruit and veg market which formerly occupied the space, to suggest what they think Ropewalks Square would benefit from in the future.

PLACED will be encouraging people of all ages to sketch out/write down their ideas for the city center space and will be opening discussion as to how to Ropewalks Square could be improved.

PLACED is based on a belief that by bringing local people and decision makers together, we can create better places – a sentiment which has informed the name and aims of the award winning organisation’s latest project – ‘Better Places Together’.

Following their Ropewalks launch event, PLACED can be found continuing their Better Places Together events campaign on Friday 23rd June at a pop-up event in Islington and Saturday 30th July, outside St George’s Hall for Liverpool Pride, where the team will be focusing on the heritage of the city, in particular the LGBT quarter.
