Be part of LightNight Liverpool 2017: Time
LightNight, Liverpool’s late night arts festival, returns on Friday 19 May 2017.
The next instalment of one of Liverpool’s biggest and best loved cultural events will be themed around the phenomenon of Time.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this special night and showcase your offer to thousands of visitors of all ages! Last year the festival received more than 72,000 visits in a single night, with more than 100 special events staged across 50 city centre venues.
Apply
Open Culture are inviting artists and arts, culture and heritage organisations of all sizes to put forward special events to be part of this year’s festival. All activity must take place within the city centre between 5pm – late on Friday 19 May and must be something you wouldn’t normally do.
You might trial a new activity, launch your summer season, try a late night preview, or stage an event to show off what you’re doing and reach new audiences.
All applications need to respond to the festival theme for 2017 which is Time. Before submitting, please read full application information here.
You can then submit your proposed activity using the online form.
Artistic commissions
Open Culture has secured Arts Council funding for a maximum of ten artistic commissions for the 2017 programme.
We are looking for emerging or established artists living or working in the UK. Proposals in any artform are welcome including visual arts, sculpture, technology, moving image, spoken word, performance, installation, light art or any combination of these.
We are looking for high-quality projects that are thought-provoking and engaging to the senses exploring the 2017 theme which is Time.
These commissions will present opportunities for artists to create work which is:
– presented as part of a major festival that reaches a large and varied audience
– made in collaboration with a new organisation or venue
– challenging but accessible for new audiences
The deadline for submissions is 12 February 2017.
