Sahir House has been offering HIV support, information and training across Merseyside since 1985. It offers a wide range of services to people living with or affected by HIV; HIV related training; up to date HIV information and opportunities to volunteer.

Outreach Support Worker – full time £19,817 – £21,067 pay award pending

We are recruiting a suitably experienced Outreach Support Worker to develop a range of programmes for service users at Sahir House. The post holder will be required:

    • To provide an outreach support service to people living with and affected by HIV
    • To manage a case load of service users, including assessment review and evaluation
    • To develop a network of local contacts in order to further support service users
  • Ability to work in a non-judgemental, confidential, equitable and empowering manner is essential. Experience of working in the HIV sector, facilitating group work and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

Health Volunteer Project Worker – part time (14.8 hours/2 days) £19,817 – £21,067 pay award pending, £7,927 pro rota

We are recruiting a suitably experienced Health Volunteer Project Worker to develop volunteer support for service users at Sahir House. The post holder will be required:

  • To provide volunteer practical and emotional support to people living with and affected by HIV
  • To coordinate a team of Health Buddy Volunteers that meets the needs of service users
  • To develop and champion volunteering to enhance the support available to service users

Both posts are for 12 months with significant possibility of extension.

The posts are subject to probationary period, satisfactory references and DBS check.
